An online news portal for ocean advocates, Blue Ocean Network will air the free Summit over 5 days on a dedicated website. This year’s Summit theme, “Uncommon Leadership in Transitional Times” has the polar bear as icon, due to its surprising ability to adapt quickly, and in astounding ways, to rapid environmental change.  For Summit details and to register, visit BlueOceanSummit.com.

Free. Online. Limited Time.

An online interview series that brings together ocean experts and changemakers,  BOS spotlights scientists, entrepreneurs, activists, artists, writers, filmmakers and more who are using all means at their disposal to restore and, ultimately, save the blue heart of our planet.  In its third year, the event has built a global online following of Ocean People ready to take action on ocean issues. This year will offer a smaller, more intimate Summit, featuring specially selected leaders who have taken to heart Dr. Sylvia Earle’s TED Prize-winning call-to-action:

“Use all means at your disposal – films! Expeditions! The Web! More! … to save and restore the ocean, the blue heart of the planet.“

Featured Speakers

The free online Summit series includes interviews with ten ocean people who embody uncommon leadership such as: Award-winning wildlife photographer and founder of BigAnimals.com, Amos Nachoum; Artivist and Mission Blue editorial team member Courtney Mattison;  Sustainable entrepreneur and angel investor matchmaker Ief Winckelmans; Champion Free Diver, Discovery Channel Explorer and Ocean spokesperson Meghan Heaney Grier;  Neuro-conservationist Dr Wallace J. Nichols; and Elysium Artists for the Arctic Expedition Leader and Ocean Geographic Founder Michael Aw.

Blue Ocean Summit Host, Laurie Wilson will be at DEMA Show 2016 to interview several of these change-makers face-to-face, along with leading trade show exhibitors who are embracing sustainability and helping their customers to do the same. The DEMA Trade Show 2016, will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center November 16-29. Visit DEMAShow.com for details on how to attend.

Since 2007, Blue Ocean Network has gone beyond simply raising ocean awareness to spotlighting issues and investigating solutions in sustainable business, marine eco-tourism, dive travel, citizen science, consumer activism, conservation, ocean arts, new technologies and innovation.   Blue Ocean Summit speakers are handpicked from this broad  variety of disciplines to share insights and actionable takeaways that the audience can use immediately to fuel change.
