The Burt Jones and Maureen Shimlock Gallery

Burt Jones and Maurine Shimlock are award-winning underwater photographers who since 1992 have explored the Indonesian archipelago, considered to be the global epicenter of marine biodiversity. These experiences led to publishing two popular and informative guidebooks “Diving Indonesia’s Raja Ampat” and “Diving Indonesia’s Bird’s Head Seascape”. For nearly fifteen years they have worked with Conservation International, to educate the world about Indonesia’s reefs and the urgent need to protect and conserve them.

Burt and Maurine are veteran dive group leaders and have led exciting trips to remote areas such as Raja Ampat, Sipadan, Komodo Island and the Solomon Islands. Their photography has been featured in GEO, BBC Wildlife, Natural History and The Smithsonian. Their first large format image collection “Secret Sea” has won the Benny Award for best photography book.

To see and learn more about their work visit the websites: Birds Head Seascape or Secret Sea Visions and  and join them at the 2014 Blue Ocean Summit.
