The Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) annual trade show will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, starting November 14 through November 17.  This is the only trade show for the diving and snorkeling industry. Bona fide industry members can register here.

Diving Equipment and Marketing Association is an international organization dedicated to the promotion and growth of the recreational scuba diving and snorkeling industry. With more than 1,300 members, this non-profit, global organization promotes scuba diving through consumer awareness programs and media campaigns such as the national Be a Diver campaign; diver retention initiatives such as DiveCaching; and an annual trade-only event for businesses in the scuba diving, action watersports and adventure/dive-travel industries, DEMA Show.

Sea of Change Foundation Gala

In an on-going effort to support marine conservation and education, leaders of the scuba diving community will, again, unite in support of the Sea of Change Foundation at this year’s DEMA (Dive Equipment Manufacturers’ Association) in Las Vegas, Nevada. All funds raised from this  “ocean casual” gala event will go directly to support the Sea of Change Foundation’s 2019 marine conservation projects and graduate scholarships.In 2019, the foundation will again provide financial and logistic support for projects that create direct and measurable positive change for our oceans.

The Sea of Change Foundation, along with our generous sponsors – Aggressor LiveaboardsSSIPlatinum Pro Foundation, and Mares – is hosting the second annual Coral Reefs Forever Gala beginning at 6:30 p.m., November 15, 2018 in Pavilions I & II of the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino.

The Sea of Change Foundation funds marine conservation and research initiatives that directly impact the oceans we all love to dive and explore. Their mission is to create positive change for the oceans.


58th NOGI Awards

On November 15, 2018 the NOGI’s will be presented by the Academy of Underwater Arts and Science. 2018 celebrates the 58th NOGI Awards Ceremony held at the Westgate Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The NOGI’s are considered the “Oscars of the Ocean” and this event is the premier opportunity for the underwater community to honor the contributions made by extraordinary people in all areas of underwater endeavors. This year’s honorees are: Peter Hughes, Sally E. Bauer MD, John C. Ogden Ph.D., Michael Gernhardt, and Marty Snydermann.   Tickets for this black tie event are available while they last at the AUAS.

Wave Makers Event!

The finalists and winner of the Wave Makers Awards will be honored during the DEMA Awards Party on Friday, November 15, 2018 held in the Westgate Hotel. The Wave Makers Award was first introduced in 2017 and aims to recognize professionals who have been working in the industry for five years or less and have made a significant contribution to the industry during that time. The Wave Makers Award encourages the industry to support a culture that fosters innovative thinking and encourages engagement. Get your ticket here.

Although the 2019 Women Divers Hall of Fame nominees will not be inducted until Beneath the Sea in New Jersey in March 2019, the DEMA show is an opportunity for attendees to meet many of these amazing women. Drop by the Women Divers Hall of Fame booth #852 to buy a 2019 calendar of Hall of Fame favorites, our own Laurie Wilson included. All proceeds from the calendar go to support WDHOF’s generous endowment fund for scuba diving training and scholarships.

The Women Divers Hall of Fame ™ (WDHOF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and raising awareness of the contributions of outstanding women divers. WDHOF provides educational, mentorship, financial, and career opportunities to the diving community throughout the world. Each year, WDHOF awards scholarships and training grants that provide financial and educational support to individuals of all ages, particularly those who are preparing for professional careers that involve diving.
