We have to rethink the ocean. The ocean is the most important aspect of the Earth. Our economy, our health, life itself depends on it.

Welcome to Blue Ocean Network
The Community for Ocean Citizens

We’ve learned a lot from you. It’s the encouragement of people like you who compelled us to create this online news organization to give you “all ocean all the time”. And it’s been the support from people like you who compelled us to launch the Blue Ocean Summit – the first-ever online gathering of ocean change-makers. We’ve been learning from some very wise Ocean Leaders about how to change our world for the bluer:

We must understand the issues, we need to gain broader, more compassionate perspectives, and we must be open to solutions from unusual messengers. It’s our job to go beyond fear and dire predictions, beyond raising awareness.  It’s through a supportive, collaborative and knowledgeable community that we can activate the input from recognized experts, and engage in positive actions, that will move us all to a better place.

We’re Creating a Change-Making Eco-System

Blue Ocean. Net is more than a news organization. We disseminate the latest scientific studies and ocean world news, along with direct experiences from our own in-the-water collaborative community.  You’ll find helpful resources, make important connections and meet like-minded people through BON events.  More importantly you’ll discover inspiration and positive actions, through the personal stories and news from your Ocean People. You can take action – right now – to be the change you want to see in the sea.

There are Three Ways You Can Participate in the Network

1. Test the waters by signing up for our Ocean Updates. When you sign up, we can connect you to our quasi-secret Facebook community. When you receive our Ocean Update, hit reply with a note requesting access to our under-the-radar FB group.
2. Dive deeper – by joining people just like you – in our closed FaceBook Group. It’s where you’ll learn what your Ocean People are up to and where you can share news and hope.
3. Write for Us – Are you a scientist, artist, entrepreneur, student or concerned “sea-tizen”  with insights into our ocean environment, why not share your perspectives, knowledge and experience with your kinda people?  Check out the Contributing Writer’s Guidelines here.

The Tribe is Gathering. Where we’re headed, it’s all hands on deck.
